Bar manager Quinn Thái has been behind Snuffbox Speakeasy for the past 7 years, putting it on the global map as it is named as one of the top 500 best bars in the world year after year. Today we are honored to have her create a cocktail inspired by MARK YOUR WALL Color Palette #07.
Hi Quinn, please tell us more about yourself and the projects you've been up to.
I'm a Bar Manager and head mixologist for Snuffbox Speakeasy in Saigon with 11 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
I have a background in Food Technology but despite my passion for making food with enormous food processors, I found myself falling in love with the world of cocktails. I started my career as a bar back, learning at a few bars in my hometown Nha Trang. Since 2015, I have worked for Snuffbox, starting as a Bartender, and became Bar Manager in 2017. I spent almost 7 years in Snuffbox learning how to be a good mixologist, gained knowledge on spirits, team work, strong mixology, KPIs and the understanding of luxuries.
One of my proudest achievements was to put Snuffbox Speakeasy on the 290th position in the top 500 best bars in the world voted by Le Cocktail Connoisseur!
In 2019, I was one of the top 16 female bartender finalists to participate in a contest to support the breast cancer charity Speed Rack Asia held in Hong Kong. And also the first representative of Vietnam to participate.
My ultimate goal is to open the best speakeasy cocktail bar for myself.
What color excites you the most?
My favorite color is amber yellow
How did this color palette inspire your cocktail creation?
When I saw the blue and white patches on this palette, I thought of the sky and the clouds. And that is also the name of this drink.
